why is american culture the way it is? it is not a lack of technology or the lack of knowledge that prevents us from mitigating and adapting to climate change, it’s a cultural problem. at some point along the plot of american history, we went from relying on and caring for the land to giving corporations more rights than the citizens. 

this plot evolves throughout several pages of a zine i created by formatting illustrations made on procreate into an adobe express file. our culture does need to change in order to become sustainable, so we need to analyze how we’ve implemented environmental initiatives in the past and slowly introduce more of these initiatives by accounting for cultural values.
